Improving Winter Maintenance & Enhancing the Windrow Program

June 28, 2023

I brought forward a motion directing staff to report back, in advance of the next operating budget process, with a comprehensive review of the City's Windrow Program. The review explored opportunities to improve the program’s effectiveness and efficiency, while assessing service enhancement options and their associated financial implications.

Community Impact:

Improved Winter Maintenance – Led Council’s review of winter snow clearing services and the Windrow Program to identify ways to enhance reliability, efficiency, and service levels for residents.

Advocating for Neighbors Regarding the Proposed Telecommunications Tower at 120 West Beaver Creek Road

September 18, 2024

In response to concerns raised by residents, I brought forward a motion requesting that the proposed Radio-Communication Application for 120 West Beaver Creek Road be referred back to staff to investigate the possibility of relocating the proposed radio-communication and broadcasting antenna system, with a report back to Council at a future meeting.

Community Impact:
Protecting Neighbourhood Interests – Ensured residents’ concerns were heard at Council and advocated for exploring a more appropriate location while balancing infrastructure needs with neighborhood compatibility.

East Beaver Creek Road & Highway 7 Secondary Plan

October 23, 2024

I brought forward a motion to accelerate the preparation of a comprehensive Secondary Plan for the East Beaver Creek Road and Highway 7 area, directing staff to begin the planning process earlier and establish a long-term vision for this important growth area.

Planning for Responsible Growth – Ensured future development in the East Beaver Creek area is guided by a comprehensive plan that balances growth with infrastructure capacity, transportation needs, employment opportunities, community services, and the quality of life of existing residents. This proactive approach helps create a more connected, sustainable, and vibrant community while protecting the interests of nearby neighbors.

Supporting Responsible Energy Planning and Infrastructure – IESO Long-Term Request for Proposals (LT2)

October 15, 2025

I brought forward a Member Motion regarding municipal support considerations related to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) Long-Term Request for Proposals (LT2) process and a proposed energy infrastructure project in Richmond Hill.

Community Impact:
Supporting Sustainable Growth – Helped ensure Richmond Hill’s interests and municipal considerations were represented in future energy planning, while supporting responsible infrastructure development and long-term community sustainability.

Modernizing Delegate Privacy in Public Participation

April 15, 2026

I proposed a motion to enhance privacy protections for residents participating in Council meetings by ensuring that only the residents’ name and Ward number, or for non-residents, the name and municipality, would appear in publicly available Council agendas and minutes.

Community Impact:

Protecting Residents’ Privacy – Modernized Council procedures to reduce unnecessary disclosure of personal information while maintaining transparency, accountability, and meaningful public participation.
